CARDIAC RISK EVALUATION CLINIC
Cardiovascular diseases, including heart attacks and strokes, are the leading cause of death among adult Canadians.
There are a number of factors that can impact the health of your heart and increase your risk of having a cardiac event. Some of these factors are beyond your control:
Your gender (men are at higher risk than pre-menopausal women)
Your family history of cardiac disease (parents, brother, sister)
Other factors, on the other hand, are controllable, meaning it is possible to make changes to reduce their impact on your heart:
Lack of physical activity
Excess weight, especially around the waist
The Cardiac Risk Evaluation Clinic is designed to determine your Cardiovascular Risk and Cardiovascular Age and to help you reduce your risk factors and prevent progression of heart disease.
The Clinic provides an integrated, multidisciplinary approach consisting of Cardiologists, Dieticians and Diabetes Educators to assist in screening patients and appropriately intervening with supervised lifestyle modification.
Have your baseline and annual cardiovascular assessment at VITA HEALTH Cardiac Clinic.
